Kenya is one of Africa’s most stunning locations - from beautiful beaches to buzzing cities, snow-capped mountains to dry deserts, it really does have everything.

The country is renowned for its diverse wildlife and tourists flock here by their thousands each year to try and catch a glimpse of the Big Five.

Although Kenya’s economy is growing fast, the gap between the rich and the poor is widening and poverty levels remain high. It is still a developing country which struggles with issues such as an overwhelmed education system, poor healthcare and lack of infrastructure in rural areas.

Despite these socio-economic struggles, Kenyan people are some of the most friendly and hospitable in the world - you’ll feel at home in no time.

Quick Facts:

- Kenya’s two official languages are Swahili and English - but there are more than 60 languages spoken across the country.

- Nairobi is Kenya’s largest city and the country’s capital. Mombasa is the second largest city.

- Kenya has been described as "the cradle of humanity” - the country has the longest and most complete record of human evolution.

- It is also home to the Great Rift Valley, which was formed over 20 million years ago when the Earth’s crust began to split

- Need a caffeine fix? Coffee is Kenya’s biggest income generator - closely followed by tourism.
