Warning: This program is not for the faint-hearted! But if you’re the adventurous type who’s up for a challenge and wants to see all Kenya has to offer, we can guarantee you’ll have the time of your life on our Explorer Project!

This once-in-a-lifetime experience sees volunteers working on four different projects in four completely different parts of our amazingly diverse country.

Week 1 - City Living:
Stay at our volunteer house in Nairobi and work on outreach programs in Kibera - the largest urban slum in Africa - with street kids and on a HIV program. In your downtime, you’ll have chance to explore the city and we’ll take you on the Animal City Tour which visits an Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Centre, Crocodile Farm and Monkey Park!

Week 2 - Life’s a Beach:
Want to wake up on the beach to views of the Indian Ocean? That’s how you will spend your second week, living at a beach house in stunning Watamu on the Kenyan coast. Your mornings will be spent volunteering at a local orphanage, clinic or school. When the work is done, you’ll be relaxing on the beach, going snorkelling and visiting the wonderful city of Mombasa.

Week 3 - Escape to the Country:
One of the main projects we support is the work at the Internally Displaced People (IDP) village in Mai Mahui. You will experience true Kenyan hospitality while living with a host family for the week. There are many ongoing projects at IDP - from construction to teaching, medical care to sustainability programs - so it’s easy to tailor your volunteering to best suit your skills. At the weekend, we’ll take you to the stunning Hell’s Gate and Lake Naivasha National Parks.

Week 4 - Into the Wild:
For your final week, you will have the opportunity to experience the Maasai culture that most other tourists never see - while living in a mud hut in the middle of the Maasai Mara. You’ll help build a school for local children who, prior to the work of our volunteers, were taught under a tree with no learning materials or facilities. To top off this amazing four weeks, you’ll be taken on a 3 day safari in the Maasai Mara Nature Reserve to try and spot the famous Big 5!

So, what are you waiting for?
